“the Council will lead by example and seek to be net zero carbon by 2030 – again ensuring that this is just – taking communities with us,” – Birmingham City Council Climate Emergency Declaration.

This workshop will explore the idea a just transition to net zero carbon, and how Birmingham can find solutions to fund the changes needed.  We’ll begin with an introduction from Mike Clark (an expert on Green Finance, who has advised the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee) which will then be thrown open to further contributions and discussion by participants.

The workshop will be feeding views and ideas from Birmingham’s communities into the City Council R20 Climate Emergency Taskforce.  In particular, Footsteps would like to hear stories from communities and provide the Taskforce with a view from the grassroots of what is needed and examples of what is already working well.

The event will be recorded to help communicate to R20, and to build a resource on the Footsteps website.

Please register for the event: this workshop will be limited to 20 participants to maximise discussion opportunities.
