All are welcome to join the Faith Block on the Birmingham March for the Climate. As the COP26 climate talks begin in Glasgow, people will be standing up for climate justice around the UK. The COP26 Coalition hope that 250,000 people will march across every major city.
“World leaders and experts will meet in Glasgow in November for the COP 26 Climate Talks. But we cannot afford yet another round of talks full of hot air and little action. We need to all come together – environmentalists, trade unionists, students, community activists, anti-discrimination campaigners, faith communities, Global South activists and more – to say that people and the planet must come before the profits of the big corporations. We need system change, not climate change.” – COP26 Coalition West Midlands
Faith communities and individuals in Birmingham are invited to join us on 6th November to witness for climate justice.
If you are passionate about this issue, but going on a march feels a bit daunting, look out for our Footsteps banners at Millennium Point, where you can meet some friendly faces, who share a faith commitment to climate justice. No need to register for the march (simply turn up) but feel free to drop us an email hello@footstepsbcf.org.uk if you’d like us to look out for you.
Please try to maintain distancing where possible (we will be walking slowly to help with this) and wear a mask in crowded spaces. If you are able, please take a lateral flow test before attending, and do not join the event if you have a positive test result, or covid symptoms.
After the march and rally, join us the Priory Rooms for an interfaith blessing and open-mic sharing session. Find out more and register for the session at Priory Rooms (you do need to register for this session).
