Tread Lightly on this Earth 2018

18/11/2018, 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Smethwick

Save the date for our third Tread Lightly conference!

As part of National Interfaith Week, we will be exploring the topic of ‘Low Carbon Food’ from different faith perspectives.  As in previous years, we’ll have speakers from faith & environmental groups sharing initiatives that have worked for them.  Alongside the speakers, there will space to reflect & discuss with other people, considering ideas that you might take back to your own faith community.

The full programme will be announced soon, but we can reveal that we’ll be considering faith teachings on food, the environmental impact of food production, and issues of waste and packaging.  If you’re part of a West Midlands faith and/or environmental group who are interested in the topic of low carbon food, please get in touch to see how you might get involved:

We’re delighted that this year we will be reaching out to the Black Country, and holding a major Footsteps event at a Sikh venue for the first time.

Low carbon travel to the venue from Birmingham city centre

  • 15 minutes walk from Smethwick Galton Bridge station (on the train line from Moor St & Snow Hill towards Stourbridge).
