Sacred People, Sacred Earth is a global day of grassroots action by groups around the world “united by a fundamental belief that all people, all living things, and the Earth are sacred.” It is organised by Greenfaith.
Footsteps will be exploring Going Local – the power of interfaith action for the climate.
Our webinar at 10am will give an example of how members of different faiths can join together in climate action in a big city, including:
- connecting with our local environment & learning about local initiatives;
- inspiring and learning from the next generation;
- influencing the city council to fulfil its climate emergency commitments;
- examples of local actions you could take tomorrow.
We will be using Zoom – register now to receive details of how to join.
Our friends at Faith for the Climate are also holding events at 2:30pm and 7pm on the day – please register seperately.
“A far better future is possible if our collective response to the pandemic and the climate crisis is guided by compassion, love and justice at a scale that meets this moment. We must not only provide the relief that so many need to survive. We must create a new culture, politics and economy of life that heals people and planet.” – Sacred People, Sacred Earth statement from Greenfaith.
