Footsteps is supporting the Climate Strike called by Birmingham’s young people on 20th September. This is part of strikes that are happening across the UK and the world to protest governments’ lack of action on the Climate Crisis. Young people have been striking on the third Friday of each month, and for September have asked adults to join them in solidarity.
Footsteps’ contribution will be a ‘Faith Point’ – a space for reflection, silent vigils and worship from different religious traditions. Look out for our blue Footsteps banners, and pop over to take some time out from a busy day of action. The faith point will run from 12pm, closing with some silent Quaker worship for 15 minutes at 2:15pm. More details of timings coming soon.
The Student Climate Network offer this invitation to join in:
“Join us in Birmingham and let’s make this the largest climate mobilisation the city has ever seen. We have a chance to deliver a clear message for climate justice just 3 days before the UN emergency climate summit on 23rd September.”
