An online event to celebrate Earth Day 2021. This years’ theme is Restore Our Earth.
Footsteps will be exploring Local to Global – the power of interfaith action for the climate.
We will share two short videos about Footstep’s work in Birmingham, UK over the past five years. Then co-hosts Kamran Shezad, BAHU Trust sustainability lead and Marilyn Hull from Birmingham Anglican Climate Action will facilitate a discussion about how lessons learned in Birmingham are applicable elsewhere, including:
- connecting with our local environment & learning about local initiatives;
- inspiring and learning from the next generation;
- influencing the city council to fulfil its climate emergency commitments;
- examples of local actions you could take tomorrow.
We will be using Zoom – register to receive details of how to join.
Please note that this webinar will be covering the same videos and topics as our recent event for Sacred People, Sacred Earth.
earthday.org are coordinating events around the world, aiming for 1 billion participants to take action on April 22nd.
“To kick off our 2021 theme of Restore Our Earth, we will start by supporting our local communities, focusing on areas that are disproportionately affected by environmental issues.” – earthday.org
