We’re delighted to invite you to the launch of our new Birmingham Faiths for Eco Action (BIFCAP) Webinar Series – bringing together councils, communities and faith organisations to explore how we can work together to respond to the climate crisis.
What is Faith & Climate Action? Sharing Learning from Birmingham for Councils & Communities
Over the past two years, Muslim organisation Bahu Trust, interfaith group Footsteps, and climate charity Ashden, have been working together to support over 10 faith-inspired communities to lead on a range of climate and nature projects across Birmingham.
From a Gurdwara exploring energy saving measures and churches greening their local areas to Imam’s incorporating climate action into weekly congregations, community-led projects are testing innovative approaches to ensuring the co-benefits of climate action are opened up to hardly reached communities.
This new webinar series will:
- Share practical examples, insights and learnings from community-led, faith-inspired climate action for those based outside of Birmingham
- Explore community engagement opportunities that exist between intersection of faith and climate
- Highlight the unique role of interfaith collaboration
- Support councils and communities to work together more effectively
This launch event will be the first of 8 webinars over the next 12 months and will set the scene for subsequent webinars exploring different aspects of our learning.
Who should attend?
This session is particularly relevant for:
- Local authority officers and councillors
- Faith leaders and community organisers
- Those interested in how the connections between faith and climate action can support community-led initiatives.
