A multi-faith blessing for the Relay to COP26, as it passes through Birmingham, with contributions from the city’s faith groups. All welcome: no need to book, simply turn up.
This November, world leaders are meeting in Glasgow for important climate negotiations (called COP26 – the 26th Conference of the Parties to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit). A group have begun walking from the G7 summit of wealthy nations in Cornwall, in a relay arriving at Glasgow in time for COP26. They want to send a message that it’s time to make decisions which protect people not bank balances, and to decide that no country will go into debt tackling climate change.
Read more about the relay and how to get involved.
The relay will be stopping in Birmingham between 23rd and 27th August, with events happening in the city centre on the Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday. Our multi-faith blessing will happen just after an event in St Philip’s Square with stalls and displays to engage the public in conversations about climate justice.
