On Wednesday 10 September Footsteps was, supported by Angella and Rosalie, at the WMCA Energy Capital Conference at Millennium Point. Angella shares some reflections on the event:
At this year’s Energy Capital Conference hosted by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) I had the chance to represent Footsteps – Faiths for a Low Carbon Future and connect with others shaping the future of energy in our region.
We contributed to the Low Energy Communities section, sharing our work in climate action and environmental education, including projects like GrassRoutes (now one year in) and other initiatives.

It was also an honour to represent Footsteps in a press interview with WMCA and the Mayor of Birmingham, where I was able to highlight the impact of our work.
It was inspiring to connect with so many people interested in energy and potential collaborations. A big thank you to Chris Martin, John Nightingale, and Rosalie Nyanguile for attending alongside me. Together, we also launched our new project with Birmingham City University (BCU), which we’ll be sharing more about soon.
I’m looking forward to following up with those who showed interest in Footsteps and to connecting with others who attended the event.
