DESCRIPTION:Fun\, practical activities for 8 to 12-year-olds\, themed aroun
 d our environment and taking place at the wildlife-rich EcoPark education 
 centre\, run by Birmingham &amp\; Black Country Wildlife Trust.\n\n\nThis 
 summer\, Small Footsteps are providing opportunities for young people to 
 get together in their communities and open spaces to have fun together\, e
 xperience the natural world\, and take something home with them.\n\nThe ev
 ent is free\, but registration is essential.\n\nThe Wildlife Trust will be
  hosting them for two free sessions at their EcoPark education centre. The
  first takes place on Monday 9th August\, 9.00 - 15.00pm and has a focus o
 n trees and birds. You can leave your children in the care of Wildlife Tru
 st staff\, all of whom are fully DBS checked\, as they learn about and eng
 age with the natural world.\n\nThey will get to know the trees around us\;
  make a natural paint poster\; plant a seed\; discover birds with binocula
 rs and make a birds’ nest with natural materials to take home.\n\nBoth d
 ays will include reflection on why looking after trees\, birds and insects
  is important\; plus opportunities for free play\n\nAt the end the day\, t
 he young people will make a pledge and be awarded a ‘Small Footsteps Cha
 mpion’ badge and certificate.\n\nBring your own packed lunch\, drinks an
