SUMMARY:Saving Energy at Faith Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Footsteps is inviting you to a workshop to share learning about
  saving energy at faith buildings and the part that initial energy assessm
 ents play.\n\nThe workshop will be in-person at the Al-Madhi Institute in 
 Birmingham and online on Zoom.  The Al-Mahdi Institute (AMI) provides an 
 open platform for critical Muslim scholarship through its education\, rese
 arch and outreach initiatives and provides a platform for diverse religiou
 s voices to learn from one another.\n\nRegister to join the workshop\, onl
 ine or in-person.\n\nThe Al-Mahdi Institute\, as part of its faith-based c
 oncern to reduce its energy use\, invited Footsteps to undertake an energy
  assessment of its buildings and find ways to reduce energy consumption. 
  The workshop will include the Al-Madhi Insititute explaining how it benef
 ited from the energy assessment and how it is now able to take steps to re
 duce energy use.\n\nBCF Footsteps – Faiths for a Low Carbon Future is Bi
 rmingham’s interfaith sustainability and climate justice group.  Over t
 he past two years it has undertaken\,  In collaboration with Ecobirmingha
 m\, 15 faith building energy assessments across a range of Birmingham’s 
 700+ faith community buildings. Each building and congregation faces diffe
 rent challenges in taking its energy saving work forward.\n\nSpeakers will
  include:\n\n 	Phil Beardmore\, Ecobirmingham &amp\; Energy Confidence –
  the part energy assessments play in achieving faith building energy\n 	Ch
 ris Martin\, Footsteps Secretary - faith buildings and new Footsteps Birmi
 ngham faith community map\n 	Al-Madhi Insitute and from other places of wo
 rship that have benefited from assessments\n 	Q &amp\; A session with spea
 kers to share experiences and challenges\n\nAt 6.30 pm  Tour for face-to-
 face participants of the Al-Madhi Insititute highlighting energy saving op
 portunities identified.  Lead by Phil Beardmore and Rukhsana Bhanji.\n\nJ
 oin us to learn more about:\n\n 	how energy assessment can help reduce ene
 rgy use at your place of worship\,\n 	our experience of involving congrega
 tions and leaders in the assessments and planning\,\n 	the benefits of tak
 ing an interfaith approach and learning from each other\,\n 	how to arrang
 e an energy assessment for your faith building in Birmingham.\n\nRegister
