DESCRIPTION:Join us for this series of four sessions of presentations and d
 iscussions on Earth in Crisis: our Climate Challenge.\n\nHosted by St Fran
 cis Church\, with Footsteps\, Churches Together in B30 and BACA (Birmingha
 m Anglican Climate Action).\n\nOur International Environmental Framework\n
 \nClimate change is a global issue that calls for action at the internatio
 nal level. But who takes that action? And how it is achieved? And how is i
 t enforced?\n\nJo Welsh will set out the context in which international en
 vironmental action takes place and consider the main aims and mechanisms o
 f the Paris Agreement. She’ll also outline some of the steps that States
 \, including the UK\, are taking to comply with their international obliga
 tions.\n\nJo is a solicitor in the Environment Agency’s Climate Change T
 eam\, where she advises in relation to the UK Emissions Trading Scheme\, t
 he international aviation emissions reduction scheme (CORSIA)\, the Kyoto 
 Protocol and the Paris Agreement. She has a particular interest in interna
 tional law\, having studied Public International Law at Universiteit Utrec
